Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American television chef and host. She was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up appearance, shares tips on how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of New York's top eateries, learned about Italian cuisine and its traditions as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking early on. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolment in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most enjoyable time of my life. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic place to study. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she gained a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian food and culture. This will have a significant impact on the way that Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids who have challenges. As an inspirational speaker, she makes trips across the country to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has always said I feel very fortunate to share what I love most for life with people.
